About ChesZerae
Born in Harlem, New York City, ChesZerae aka The Singing Scholar is a singer, songwriter, speaker, and creative entrepreneur whose work reflects a refusal to let music or creative vision stay in one lane. After earning her MBA, she made an unconventional choice. Rather than separating business from artistry, she began building both at once, developing original music while creating an independent label and multimedia production company around her work.
With a vocabulary spanning gospel, R&B, jazz, pop, and classical traditions, ChesZerae approaches original songwriting, inventive arrangements, and freestyle with musical agility. Her music weaves reflective, intellectually grounded lyrics with magnetic melodies and memorable hooks. Musical traditions give her a foundation; genre gives her material, never a template.
Her performance history spans the United States and Europe, including Bulgaria, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Belgium, and includes performances with the Harlem Gospel Choir. Now entering a renewed creative chapter, ChesZerae is refining her sound and expanding her creative expression with greater purpose and intention as she marks a pivotal renaissance in her musical identity.
